Washing Machine Door Lock Wiring

After the door lock has been activated and the door locks shut other faults could stop the washing machine from doing anything.

Washing machine door lock wiring. I ordered a new branded door lock and fitted it fine. Scan the included wiring diagram until you find the wires labelled lid switch and lock switch. The switch is of the bi metallic type and works as it heats up when the door is closed and the water level or start switch is activated and so the parts inside move to lock the door. For example this is a possibility but much more rare if the common wire at the back of the door lock has a break in it somewhere or faulty connection where it connects to other parts of the machine so the power passing through the lock cannot reach its intended destination.

Hi about 3 months ago the door lock on our washer was clicking constantly. The majority of washing machine lid lock switches are powered by 3 or 4 wires each of which performs a different function. So one of the connections goes to mains hot and to one side of the heater wire on the bi metallic switch.
