War Of The Ring Second Edition Review
War of the ring is full of stories and atmosphere.
War of the ring second edition review. In 2004 we saw the release of a new war of the ring from ng international nexus and published in the usa by fantasy flight games. You can easily be looking at 8 hours for only two players. It was a beautiful game complex and had victory conditions achievable by either side. What s even greater about war of the ring is that by playing the game you can write your own version of the epic series.
The beautiful asymmetry of the game makes it more believable and organic. Both games are extremely similar in the gameplay department with war of the ring being a bit more complex of a game. It is however a very long game. There are only cosmetical changes in the second edition compared to the first different board graphics and a larger and more readable cards.
War of the ring second edition is a fantasy wargame with lots of heavy strategy and tactics. It s a sound asymmetrical strategy game with a lot of complex elements. It s a long time to learn a long time to set up a long time to teach and a long time to play. The game is drenched in theme and the designers consciously incorporated it into the game design from the ground up.
But this game becomes what it is with its monstrosity and number of miniatures. The game was fun to play. It is deep serious and time consuming but it also provides you with unforgettable and unique gaming experience. Processing itself is amazing.
Simply put this is one of the best war games ever made even if you re not an lotr fan.
