V Ring Seal Sizes

V ring seals are mounted on shafts and their thin tapered lip seals against a surface counterface at right angles to the shaft.

V ring seal sizes. It works by stretching over the shaft to create a tight seal along the shaft while the flexible lip seals lightly against the counterface. A unique sealing concept. Made entirely of rubber v rings can be easily stretched to fit over assembled parts and one size can fit a number of shaft diameters. The s type v rings are designed for shaft sizes up to 200 mm.

The construction of a v ring seal is divided into three parts. V rings are mounted to the shaft and can be used as a face seal lip seal or more commonly as a flinger where centrifugal forces from the spinning shaft deflect fluids away from a counter face surface. Eriks offers v rings manufactured with four standard profiles. V rings are normally made of nitrile rubber.

V ring seals are available in a large variety of designs and sizes to fit the requirements of most applications. All rubber v rings fig 1 or just called v rings. For applications where higher temperatures occur or where aggressive media are present v rings made of fluoro rubber should be used. Skf supplies two types of v ring seals.
